Heard in Europe

The European Parliament will host a three hour debate about how cannabis can drive economic growth and create jobs.

Not that we’re admitting to anything, but the Heard in Europe team always thought mind-bending marijuana slowed activity rather than spurring it.

The event will be held tomorrow evening in Brussels and, “guest speakers will highlight that cannabis can be a boost for growth and employment in the EU”.

The conference is about understanding the alternative and sustainable use of cannabis variations as industrial hemp and as a medicine.

It is being hosted by hard-left Greek MEP Stelios Kouloglou, a member of the ruling Syriza party.

It’s high time this important issue was given some attention. Let’s hope Mr Kouloglou doesn’t make a hash of it.
